We’re proud to spotlight one of our incredible paramedics of two and a half years, Joseph Stewart.
Joseph was inspired to pursue EMS because he wanted to help others, and he finds it very rewarding to see his treatments make a direct impact on patients in need.
One call that stands out to Joseph as especially memorable took place in Appalachia Bay. Two patients needed assistance deep in the trails, and were unable to be reached by ambulance. Joseph and his team rode ATVs to the patient site, stabilized them, then rode a boat back to the landing zone where helicopters arrived to assist them.
The dedication and fast action of paramedics like Joseph are what allow Mercy Regional EMS to continue fulfilling our mission of serving the community.
