Mercy Regional EMS

Mercy Regional EMS of Oklahoma, operating under Centurion Health Systems, has finalized its acquisition of Life EMS and began providing ambulance services in Enid on Dec. 29, 2025, following unanimous approval of its ambulance business license by the Enid City Commission.

As part of the city’s review process, Enid evaluated Mercy Regional’s operational readiness, clinical quality, financial stability, equipment maintenance and regulatory compliance. City staff completed its investigation without identifying concerns and recommended approval.

“Our priority is continuity of care and operational readiness from day one,” said Duke Dixon, CEO of Mercy Regional EMS. “Life EMS served Enid for more than 50 years, and that legacy is respected. The responsibility now is ensuring residents experience uninterrupted, high-quality emergency medical response.”

To support a seamless transition, Mercy Regional EMS retained experienced local personnel and aligned protocols with the Enid Fire Department and city leadership. Twenty-four EMS professionals are now serving Enid as part of Mercy Regional EMS, supported by three advanced life support ambulances dedicated to the community. Employees who joined Mercy Regional EMS retained their tenure and seniority, and the organization will continue responsibility for 911 emergency response and patient transport within the city.

Mercy Regional EMS coordinated closely with the City of Enid to align communications, deployment plans and service expectations as operations began.

“Appreciation goes to city leadership for its diligence and the trust placed in this organization,” Dixon said. “Mercy Regional EMS looks forward to serving Enid with accountability, reliability and compassion.”
