We’re thrilled to highlight AJ Jantz, one of our incredible Emergency Medical Dispatchers who has been serving Mercy Regional EMS for two months.
AJ was inspired by her family to pursue a career in EMS. Many members of her family have been in the medical field for as long as she can remember. From a young age, she knew she wanted to follow in their footsteps and find her own path in healthcare. As a dispatcher, AJ feels like she is making a true difference.
“When people call 911, they are experiencing some of the worst moments in their lives so far and are very worried and or stressed out in those moments,” she said. “It brings me comfort to be able to keep them more calm in those moments and to make sure they know we are doing everything in our power to help them and their loved ones.”
AJ’s favorite part of working at Mercy is the people. She has enjoyed the overall climate at Mercy and the people that she’s worked with have made her experience amazing. She often turns to her coworkers to decompress during stressful moments, who understand what she’s feeling and can provide support.
At Mercy Regional EMS, it’s our goal to deliver swift and efficient care, while also treating each patient and their loved ones with compassion. AJ supports this mission daily, and her thoughtfulness while taking dispatch calls does not go unnoticed. We are thankful to have her on our team!
